Bhansali shelved Bajirao Mastani and went on to direct Black (2005), Saawariya (2007), Guzaarish (2010), and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013). Throughout these ten years, media speculation continued about the production and casting of Bajirao Mastani. Bajirao Mastani Story line:

Bollywood lovebirds Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who had impressed everyone with their on-screen chemistry in Sanjay Leela Bhansali in ‘Ram Leela’, the filmmaker’s version of ‘Romeo And Juliet’, will be next seen opposite each other in ‘Bajirao Mastani’, a real life historical romance.

In the film, Ranveer will essay the role of Peshwa Bajirao, a Maratha warrior, who ends up falling for a Muslim warrior-princess Mastani and the effect this forbidden romance this has on his marital life. While Deepika will play Mastani, Priyanka Chopra will play Bajirao’s wife Kashibai.

Ever since the film was announced, there has been quite a buzz about the film because of its larger-than-life scale and the look of the actors. Ranveer has shaved his head for the role and has also learned the ancient martial art Kalaripayattu for the same while Deepika has learned sword-fighting and horse-riding in order to play Mastani.

According to historical records, the love story of Bajirao and Mastani was quite scandalous in its time because when Bajirao fell in love with Mastani and married her, he was condemned by Brahmins and other Hindus as Bajirao was an upper caste Brahmin and Mastani was a Muslim. The bond between the two lovers was so strong that Mastani is believed to have committed suicide after Bajirao fell ill and passed away in April 1740.

Ranbir Kapoor’s lack of social media savvy has got director Imtiaz Ali worried. The director joked that he is now pinning hopes on his leading lady Deepika Padukone for the publicity of their upcoming film TAMASHA.

This sequence forms the part of an over two-minute video clip, where Imtiaz and Ranbir are involved in a playful, friendly banter over the actor’s absence from social networking sites. The duo watches a video of Deepika and Ranbir, where he struggles to name the links of official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages of Tamasha. “So, this is how you are going to promote the film? What is this? This is on air. You are exposed. Please don’t do this…” says Imtiaz to his Rockstar actor. To which Ranbir replies, “Sir, please let me do it.My Last film did not work,I need publicity” Ranbir’s Bombay Velvet did not do well at the box-office.

The 32-year-old actor even jokes that Deepika conspired against him and used CGI to show him in their video. Imtiaz, 44, taunts him, saying, “Sir, Deepika is my only hope for this now because I have seen what kind of publicity you have done. Deepika’s character in the film is a fan of one of the adventures of comic book hero Asterix.

Tamasha, releasing on November 27, reunites a set of collaborators on previous hit films – Imtiaz Ali directed Ranbir in Rockstar and Deepika in Love Aaj Kal, Ranbir and Deepika were last seen in 2013 blockbuster Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. This is the first time, however, that all three are working together.
But when we got our hands on a behind-the-scenes picture from the upcoming Imtiaz Ali directorial, it was surprising to see Deepika don the hat of a photographer and her more than willing subject was Ranbir.

After some snooping around, we found out that Deepika Padukone picked up the camera just after shooting for a scene with her leading man. “Ranbir had climbed a cliff for that particular scene.”

After the scene was shot, Deepika grabbed the camera, and started clicking pictures of Ranbir Kapoor. He also played along, striking different poses, including some really funny ones,” Not as the part of film.

While the two were having fun, a unit member on the sets captured their moment in this picture. They will be seen sharing screen space once again in this film, two years after Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013).

It seems that the Piku fame, even after their break-up, is empathised with the Bombay Velvet actor for his repeated failures at the box office. Talking about her experience working with the Roy star in Imtiaz Ali’s directorial, the Cocktail actress said, “Tamasha is a very special film for all of us. We have all worked individually in a different capacity. I have done Love Aaj Kal with Imtiaz; they both (Ranbir and Imtiaz) worked together in Rockstar; Ranbir and I worked in in Bachna Ae Haseeno and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Inspite of that, we all are very good friends and it was always a dream for me to work with this team”.

In an interview with DNA, Deepika Padukone confessed that she can easily quit acting and lead a domesticated, happy family life away from the limelight, if she gets married. She added that for her, nothing is more important than the relevance of family. Talking about the kind of family that she wants to have, Deepika said that she wants to have lots of children and that while she doesn’t know when it is going to happen, but she hopes that when it does, she is graceful about it. She elaborated that this is the only advice that her parents have given her and she would like to stick to it.
